I’m the mom at Walmart the day before Easter, scrambling to put together an awesome Easter basket with whatever scarps are left after being picked over by the timely and better prepared parents of the world. This process stresses me out, which is so unfair to put myself through because holidays are meant to be enjoyed and the holiday preparations should be no different. But nope, not this year!
Now that Dylan is a big boy who looks forward to Easter and its festivities, I wanted to eliminate the last minute pressure and make putting together a basket enjoyable. So I made it a point to Walmart early and get first pick for once in my life and it paid off big time because there was so much to choose from!
I had so many options that I decided to do something I’ve never done before: a themed basket. A Marvel Easter basket!
I’m so excited because I’m actually done with Dylan’s Easter basket and instead of sweating it days before the Easter holiday, I can focus on the festivities and our traditions- like Saturday morning pancake breakfast, egg-hunts, and family gatherings on Easter Sunday. My favorite part about Easter is putting out carrots for the Easter bunny and hiding Dylan’s basket. This year is going to be the first time I’m going to make him find it without assistance and if he misses this bright red basket, I’m keeping the Frisbee.
